1. ‘Stopcocks’ ‘Stopcocks Women Plumbers’ ‘Water is Life’ ‘Stopcocks Business Scheme’ ‘SBS’ the wavy lines and disc are all the property of Stopcocks Ltd. Registered office 14a Lumbutts, Todmorden, Lancs OL14 6JE. Company Number 6931884, and will not be used without permission.
2. Stopcocks is not a training institution and as such is not responsible for the standards of training received by individuals before joining the ‘SBS’.
Individuals registering with the ‘SBS’ must be eligible to work in the UK and have no restrictions thereof.
3. It is the responsibility of each plumber carrying the ‘Stopcocks’ branding to make themselves fully aware of the code of conduct expected by Stopcocks: Respect, Quality of Service, Peace of Mind and Aftercare and conduct themselves accordingly.
4. Stopcocks will on occasion contact customers to assess the level of customer satisfaction.
5. Any incidences contravening the Stopcocks Code of Conduct (Respect, Quality of Service, Peace of Mind and Aftercare) will result in an immediate suspension of the service and termination of the contract with no liability to Stopcocks. (NB. we all make mistakes, this term applies to attitude and behaviour rather than technical skill or unpredictable circumstances)
6. Stopcocks will on occasion promote special services to the customers on the database.
7. All contracts are on a minimum six monthly basis and as such will be reviewed one month prior to the end of the contract.
8. The ‘SBS’ is a scheme aimed at supporting plumbers into successful self employment. Stopcocks is not an employer and all plumbers in the scheme remain personally responsible at all times for themselves, their business practice and their income.
9. Stopcocks accepts no liability for any actions of the individual plumbers.
10. Plumbers agree that the information provided to us on registration for the ‘SBS’ is full and accurate and not misleading or untrue in any way. It is the responsibility of the individual to update Stopcocks of any change by emailing info at stopcocks.net.
11. Stopcocks accept no liability for any transactions which take place between plumbers and customers nor do we accept any responsibility or liability for any loss suffered by either or any other person arising out of use of our services, howsoever caused.
12. Plumbers agree to indemnify Stopcocks for any loss suffered as a result of any action brought against us as a result of the actions of, or any service or product provided by an individual plumber registered on the ‘SBS’.
13. Stopcocks does not guarantee earnings. The business strategies endorsed in the ‘SBS’ are given in good faith. Income cannot be guaranteed. Stopcocks make every effort to ensure that we accurately represent these products and services. As with any business, your results may vary, and will be based on your individual capacity, business experience, expertise, and level of desire. There are no guarantees concerning the level of exposure and success you may experience. The testimonials and examples used are exceptional results, which do not apply to the average purchaser, and are not intended to represent or guarantee that anyone will achieve the same or similar results. Each individual’s success depends on his or her background, dedication, desire and motivation. There is no assurance that examples of past results can be duplicated in the future. We cannot guarantee your future results and/or success. There are some unknown risks in business that we cannot foresee which can reduce results. We are not responsible for your actions. The use of our information, products and services should be based on your own due diligence and you agree that Stopcocks is not liable for any success or failure of your business that is directly or indirectly related to the purchase and use of our information, products and services.
14. Every plumber is responsible for gaining their own Public Liability Insurance, appropriate motor insurance and any other insurances required by law and Stopcocks will not be liable in the event of any incident rising from lack of the above.
15. Each plumber is to ensure they comply with all tax laws. When appropriate, each individual will register themselves under their own name for tax purposes. Stopcocks is not liable for Tax or NI and these should be arranged separately.
16. All marketing materials, signage and branding remain the property of Stopcocks and in the event of any plumber being suspended or removed all materials will be returned immediately to Stopcocks.
17. No refund is due to any plumber being suspended or removed from the ‘SBS’.
18. All plumbers will supply their own tools, transport and work attire which will be clean and presentable to a prescribed standard.
19. No plumber within the “SBS’ will knowingly cause harm, damage or distress to any householder. Plumbers agree that it is in the best interest to remove from the ‘SBS’ any plumber who is undesirable, dishonest, unreliable, not qualified or otherwise brings the good name of Stopcocks and its members into disrepute or harms or impedes the development of our business.
20. Each individual plumber will be expected to make efforts to succeed in their own business and this shall be the responsibility of the individual. No liability will be accepted by Stopcocks for individuals not making those efforts.
21. Stopcocks reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without notice. Stopcocks shall not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations hereunder, if such failure results from any act of riot, war, civil unrest, flood, earthquake or other cause beyond reasonable control.
